Odoo Functional Guide

Odoo is a suite of business apps sharing a common database and framework:

  • Sales → Quotations, Orders, Invoicing
  • Purchase → RFQs, POs, Vendor Bills
  • Inventory → Warehouses, Moves, Valuations
  • Accounting → Journals, Reconciliation, Reports
  • Manufacturing → BOMs, Work Orders, MRP

Every financial transaction posts to a journal. Common journals:

  • Sales Journal
  • Purchase Journal
  • Bank Journal
  • Cash Journal

Defines the account structure. Set up per company. Affects all reporting.

Odoo supports multiple companies in one database. Inter-company transactions generate entries in both entities automatically.

  • Confirm chart of accounts with client
  • Set fiscal year and tax period
  • Map existing data for migration
  • Configure user roles and access rights
  • Run UAT with key users
